Resin bonded composite veneers, as with the porcelain veneers offered in our Herndon dental office, can dramatically enhance the beauty of your smile, producing beautiful natural esthetic results.

Composite resin is a tooth-colored filling material that may be used to form dental veneers, and is applied in layers to the tooth and sculpted directly in the mouth to achieve the desired esthetic our individual patients are looking for. Composite veneers are used in situations in which there is chipping or discoloration of natural teeth. They are also used where there are minor misalignments of teeth to give teeth the appearance of more aligned teeth.

Advantage of resin bonded composite veneers:

• More economical alternative option when compared to porcelain veneers, often compared at 1/3 of the cost
• They provide an immediate result, and can be done chairside in one appointment

Disadvantages of resin bonded composite veneers:

• Generally they do not last as long as porcelain veneers
• They are not as smooth as porcelain veneers, so they can stain more easily

Over time, they can also change color and can fracture more easily than porcelain veneers.
